Happy Friday Everyone!
It’s the start of the Memorial Day weekend and we expect sunny skies here in the Northeast. I hope you have plans to do something wonderful. I will be learning how to work a hula-hoop. On a visit to Target this past week, I couldn’t resist the shiny ring so I purchased one. You should have seen the look on my face. You’d think someone had handed me a free gas for life card. I’ve always wanted to learn how to spin a hula-hoop. As a kid I was just too shy to try.
As soon as I got home, my 6 year old son took possession of it. He had never tried using one. He was extremely frustrated at first because he couldn’t manage to keep it spinning on his hips. He didn’t give up. By the end of that day he had declared himself the hula-hoop king. He is able to spin it fast and even goes down on his knees to show me how low he can go. I was very much encouraged by his determination. He told me this was my weekend to learn.
We should be more like children and approach life without fear. It’s never too late to learn something new. You never know. You may just discover some hidden talents.
