Living authentically means to be in touch with myself as a part of the world at large and to love in step with that knowledge.
To me, living life authentically means being true to yourself. It means to live life for yourself and no one else, to live your dreams and accomplish your goals on your own terms.
Life, Love, the pursuit of happiness and sharing all things wonderful is living authentically in my world. I am thankful for every breath, every sentient being, every kind word and gesture.
Namaste,
Ayanna
Authenticity to me is eliminating the space between who I would like to be and who I am, each and every day.
I’m not there yet but boy am I trying.
Also, reading “A New Earth”, bringing stillness and presence into my life whenever I can – I’m sure Eckhart would say that this silent state is our “authentic” self.
To me, living authentically means being honest, loving and respectful to your self and then introducing that same self to the world.
what does it mean to live authentically? to be true to oneself is what first comes to mind. But in order to be true to oneself, one must know oneself. So the true essence of living authentically is being able to know not only who you are, but how to accept your true self and live that truth everyday. I believe the challenge with living authentically is that there are often times things about ourselves that we dont realize or accept, and we therefore dont remain true to ourselves. The key to authentically is enlightment. You cant be true to yourself if you havent realized who the true you is.
Bravo!
Keep those comments coming everyone.
Your thoughts are insightful and brilliant!
It’s simple. I can only be me. If I pretend to be someone else sooner or later I will be found out. I give to others all that I am without fear. This is how I see authenticity in my life.
For me to live authentically is to live life with conviction and live the life you want to live. It must be shaped by your own choices and not those of others.
Living authentically means being open about who I am – wherever I am and whoever I’m with. I’m learning to share my likes and dislikes with those I love without fear of being rejected for my beliefs and who I am.
Learning to live like this makes each encounter and every part of my day more valuable as I know that I am building a life that is based on “authentic” relationships – where I know others and am known for who I really am.
To live authentically means to be in touch with what I believe to be my ultimate life’s purpose, and to engage in the things that I truly enjoy and am passionate about on a daily basis…to “DO ME.” It means to indulge in self-actualization for personal, professional, and spiritual growth/development. It means to nurture existing relationships while fostering new ones. It means to recognize, accept, and proactively manage my strengths and weaknesses, while seeking to turn threats into opportunities. It means to laugh, LOVE, and live each day with joy, contentment, faith, and gratitude for all the things that God has blessed me with… and then to share this positive energy so that others too might be blessed!
Living authentically to me is living the truth. God’s truth, my truth…not letting anyone else’s outside opinions, comments or dictates tell me who I am. Being me and just me…raw, uncensored. As an analogy, the human behind the actress behind the character. The person making the calls and making the decisions…for real, when it counts.
